Introduction

With improved living conditions and better health care throughout life, life expectancy in Cwm Taf Morgannwg continues to increase. However, for many people, getting older may bring new challenges such as loneliness, isolation or more complex health problems.

We know older people value their independence and ability to live in their own home for as long as they are able. Our role is to ensure older people get the help they need to live healthy, happy and independent lives. It’s important they feel they have a voice and that their voice is heard.

Our role

To ensure older people know how they can tell us about any problems they may be facing and how we can improve or change the services and support that we offer.

To understand what support may be needed, we work with older people and organisations that support them to improve and create better services.

Through the Health and Social Care Regional Integration Fund, we are supporting a number of projects that are changing health and social care for the better.

We have worked with older people people their families and carers to identify the actions needed to improve services and support in Cwm Taf Morgannwg.
